Junior/Medior Fixed Income Sales - Tradition

Locatie: Amsterdam
Dienstverband: Full-time

Purpose of Role & Main Responsibilities

 The following list includes the main duties of the role, but is not exhaustive:

  • Client development
  • Client entertainment
  • Data Management and maintaining relevant platforms, ensuring records are accurate and kept up to date
  • Provide accurate and timely reports as and when required
  • Provide administration support to the desk
  • Provide day to day support to the desk including, but not exhaustive, lunch runs
  • Compliance/regulatory responsibilities
  • Fostering a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed
  • Communicating in an approachable, helpful and non-prejudicial manner in your dealings with employees, clients and/or customers as you will be regarded as a representative of your department as well as the Group and you should behave accordingly
  • Undertaking and passing all appropriate training in line with the requirements of the role
  • Adhering to and championing in-house codes of ethics and conduct risk
  • Adhering to all relevant legislation, regulations, rules and guidelines, and internal policies and procedures, including the requirements around preventing financial crime e.g. market abuse or money laundering
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested

Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience in a broking business is advantageous
  • Experience in a desk assistant role is advantageous
  • Experience / familiarity of using Bloomberg is advantageous
  • Excellent sales skills
  • Excellent people & communication skills
  • Familiarity with using dealer board systems is advantageous
  • Proven product & market knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of Tradition businesses & practices
  • A-Level qualifications/degree level qualifications
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word)

Additional Information RE: Demands of Role

  • Due to the nature of the role you may be required to work extended hours at short notice to complete the work required

Standard Desk Head/Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing their business and the employees that work within that business, consciously creating a workplace culture that is consistent with  Tradition London Group and promoting the Tradition Mission and Values Statement
  • Responsible for cultivating and maintaining communication, trust, respect, fairness, professionalism and challenge in their teams through various mediums such as team meetings, one to one meetings etc
  • Responsible for building our business through integrity and strength and ensuring our teams provide expert support with their products and services
  • Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback and performance development planning
  • Responsible for always considering the measures that are necessary to ensure supervision including the provision of effective and robust processes and controls that contribute to their oversight
  • Responsible for cultivating efficient working relationships across all functions, clients and external agencies
  • Responsible for ensuring that new and existing employees fully understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures

  • Review performance data that includes financial, sales, and activity reports and spreadsheets to effectively monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall performance
  • Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output
  • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable and defensible in accordance with Company policies and procedures

Desired Qualities for Desk Head/Supervisor Front Office Roles

  • Ability to convey ideas and advice clearly, concisely, with conviction and in a persuasive manner often in the face of opposition or hostility when advice is challenged
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and to implement changes
  • Proven track record in carrying out the role & responsibilities
  • Management experience in a team-oriented workplace preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team that provides leadership and direction
  • Provide planning and people management
  • Demonstrated good relationship management, presence and leadership
  • Attracting, retaining and motivating high-calibre employees
