At a glance

A global mandate in a complex, dynamic and international environment. We take several major decisions on a daily basis, which impact our clients and the world wide economy. We are looking for Credit Analysts to strengthen our International Credit Risk – Trade and Commodity Finance team! As Credit Analyst you will be responsible for the credit issuance, monitoring and improvement of the Trade and Commodity Finance portfolio.

Credit proposals come from the Business Lines’ Offices worldwide (i.e. Rotterdam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sao Paulo, New York), which gives your job an extra cultural and international flavor.

What do you see when you envision the next step? Work on achieving your goals and develop yourself professionally and personally. Tell us your story. We want to hear it!

Your job

As Credit Analyst you are working in a team of colleagues who make independent credit risk assessments and take decisions. The credit risk assessments help us to fully understand our clients’ businesses and financing needs and include business risks (how does the business model work and how does the company add value), financial risks (profitability, strength of the balance sheet, cash flows, trade flows) and structure risks.

Based on the outcome of the assessment an independent credit advice is prepared, including, if necessary, recommendations for changes that you deem necessary to improve the risk profile. Based on the credit advice, final decisions are taken by the team and/or relevant credit committees to which you will present your views.

The Credit Analyst is also a sparring partner for the colleagues from the business lines. There is daily contact about developments in the international financial markets that affect our existing clients, prospects and other new opportunities. If appropriate, support is offered to the business in structuring new transactions and improving existing ones. On a regular basis Credit Analysts join the business line for client meetings.

Your working environment

The teams (8-12 colleagues) are diverse in age and (cultural) background and can be described as committed, passionate, open minded and hard working. There is a lot of room to take ownership and work on personal growth. Besides participating in credit risk decision taking, most colleagues are also involved in several side projects that have bank-wide impact. Due to the variations in the timelines of our workload, you should be able to engage in a dynamic and changing environment.

Broad or specific knowledge of trade and commodity finance and/or credit risk, credit structuring and financial analysis are a plus, but what is really key is eagerness to learn. Establishing a good working relationship with the business line (the first line of defense) is essential, however from time to time this can also entail saying no and engaging in extensive debates.
