Network Management is part of the Commerce department and manages the relationship with our network of providers. They ensure the ability of ABN AMRO Clearing to continuously expand its products and services portfolio, its markets and its markets shares and to enhance competitiveness on a local, regional and global level.

Clearing acts as an intermediary between clients and the exchanges they trade on. ABN AMRO Clearing Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank and holds significant market shares in financial markets across the globe holding top spots in clearing on numerous exchanges in every region, clearing anything from 10 to 20 million trades per day.

Your job

The person fit for this role manages the relationships with and the performance of international service providers and counterparties in order to guarantee the competitiveness, reliability and quality of the clearing and custody services they deliver to ABN AMRO Clearing Bank (AACB). Our clients are highly demanding, so you need to be as well. Network Management seeks to strike a balance between the interests of the customer, the service provider and AACB itself.

In order to reach this balance, you need to be able to act in the interest of all our stakeholders while acting as 1st Line of Defence. As Network Manager you are in daily contact with a network of multiple providers, (CCPs, Custodians, CSDs etc.), AACB departments and clients.

  • You are expected to fully carry out your own tasks and responsibilities including, but not limited to:
  • Manage relationships with international providers and implement and maintain the service level process in order to ensure high quality, competitively priced service
  • Manage risks at providers by identifying them and addressing them accordingly
  • Maintain an overview of developments, initiatives and regulations of different markets and determine the impact by taking ownership of communicating to stakeholders
  • Make agreements with the international providers and counterparties
  • Manage the formal documentation related to international providers 
  • Analyse and evaluate the quality of the international providers through operational calls, performance evaluation meetings and conducting due diligence
  • Analyse new markets, products and services based on opportunities & restrictions driven by business needs
  • Leveraging our network in order to maximize revenues, minimize expenses and rationalize risk.
  • Act as a point of escalation and resolution towards service providers

Your profile

You have the ability to bring colleagues from different backgrounds, expertise and cultures together in order to optimally serve our clients. Of course, you are result driven, have an inquisitive mind and you enjoy learning new things in an international environment. The following characteristics are what we are looking for:

  • More than 5 years of proven experience within Securities and Derivatives Clearing space
  • Detailed knowledge of all asset classes
  • Strong understanding of international clearing and settlement practices, rules and regulations
  • Speaks and writes in English fluently and therefore has no trouble communicating with people all over the world
  • Strong analytical, decision making and negotiation skills, high work standards and attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management knowledge
  • Ability to understand broader business issues
  • Great team player skills
  • A data analytics skill set is welcomed
  • Master’s degree
